PLASA's Technical Standards Program is the only program accredited by the American National Standards Institute to write standards specifically for the entertainment technology industry. Many of these standards have been adopted around the world and are referenced on a regular basis in the United States by Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including OSHA inspectors and fire marshals. It needs your help to continue.

The program historically has been funded through annual donations from the industry with PLASA making up the balance. Over $1.2 million dollars has been contributed to fund the program over the last twenty years, however those donations have dropped off over the last few years, resulting in a deficit that is larger than PLASA can make up. Without additional funding, the program will become unsustainable. If it ends, ANSI will withdraw PLASA's standards; they will no longer be American National Standards and will have no special status with AHJs or government agencies.

The Technical Standards Program has had a major positive impact on the entertainment technology industry, both in terms of safety and the interoperability of equipment. We hope you will consider supporting this program so that the work can continue and the portfolio of American National Standards can be maintained.
